After all the drama that has been coming from the Han Solo movie in the last week I expected some reports to come out that may push fans to forget all the drama and get excited for the project again. There has been reports that vile gangster Jabba the Hutt will appear in the Han Solo movie. Obviously we know from the Original Trilogy that Han Solo and Jabba have a history so building on that history totally makes sense.
Jabba has appeared in several Star Wars projects most notably Episode I and VI, but was also given a scene in A New Hope as one of the notorious special edition changes. Jabba was a practical effect when he first appeared in Return of the Jedi. He was basically a massive puppet that required multiple people to operate. That changed in the 1990s when George Lucas decided to use CGI for the character. The reports coming from the set claim that Jabba will be a mix of practical and CGI in the film which gives us some hope.
If Jabba does appear there is a pretty solid chance that some of his other known allies will appear as well. Jabba has a large cast of bounty hunters that he has worked with. That could mean that we see Boba Fett, Greedo or perhaps some other bounty hunters.
What are your thoughts on Jabba the Hutt possibly appearing in the Han Solo film? Would you rather him be a practical effect or CGI?
