I was watching Starship Troopers again and I still think it’s freaking awesome.

Giant bugs! Political Satire! Loads of guns! Sure it’s not faithful to the original novel but who cares? Micheal Ironside easily steals the show being one of the best on-screen characters ever(“COME ON YOU APES! YOU WANT TO LIVE FOREVER?”).

The cgi’s pretty top notch too considering it was released in ’97. I’m sure they’re trying to send a political message here but c’mon! I wanna watch more bugs get blown up! The gore scenes are pretty awesome too.

The only thing I didn’t like was the romance sub plot and where Dina Meyer dies. I mean she’s a totally rad and awesome character! I am totally baffled why Casper Van Dien’s character decided to choose that ice queen Denise Richards instead(I was hoping for her brains to get scooped out though).

Pretty fun movie though! Would rate an 8.5 out of 10.

I’m not too fond of it. I get what it wanted to achieve, but most people didn’t get it. The message should have been a little more obvious. The film was too widely misunderstood, which is why it spawned mostly the wrong kind of sequels.

Well, invasion was not too bad of a movie, I mean it wasn’t that good but it was watchable and it had some entertaining parts just like the 2 live action sequels. I didn’t know about Dina Meyers doing participating in the new movie. That’s cool!

    Awesome!

Yeah but it’s a sequel to the animated film Invasion which came out a while back. Dina Meyers is voicing Dizzy though!

That it is. Come to think of it Ironsides character kinda looks like a future you.

I agree completely with your opinion about the movie. Btw they are releasing another Starship troopers movie.
