Chester Bennington Commits Suicide, Dead At 41

Update: Hanging has been confirmed as cause of death.

Chester Bennington, vocalist from the nu metal band Linkin Park has committed suicide and died at 41. He was found dead this morning. Its possible to say that the earlier suicide of Chris Cornell could have effected Bennington’s decision to kill himself. Today was Cornell’s birthday and he and Chester were great friends as they both struggled to keep clean in the mid 2000s.

Linkin Park busted onto the music scene in 2000 with their debut album Hybrid Theory which has sold 11 million copies in the US alone. They just released a new album on May 19th of this year. Linkin Park has had 5 albums reach number one on the Billboard 200. Chester also replaced Scott Weiland (who died in 2015) in Stone Temple Pilots before eventually leaving the band.

Bennington has 6 children and is was currently married to his second wife. He had been vocal about committing suicide because of abuse when he was a child.

I will update more information when more comes.
