James Cameron Wants 3 More Terminator Movies.

Anyone who seen Terminator Genisys has probably seen enough of the Terminator franchise for at least the near future but now original creator James Cameron claims that wants to produce 3 more Terminator movies. Cameron hasn’t been involved in the franchise since Judgement Day but he hasn’t been afraid to praise the recent additions of the franchise (if he gets paid to do it).

There was a report a few months ago that indicated that Cameron would return to the franchise as producer and Deadpool director Tim Miller would direct a new Terminator film, but it looks like James is getting a little ambitious while working on 4 Avatar sequels. His intention is to completely reinvent the Terminator mythology. There is really no word on whether Arnold Schwarzenegger will be involved or not and the rights don’t officially go back to Cameron for another year and a half. So I’m sure there is still a possibility that none of these movies ever happen. Cameron did take some time to bash the last 3 Terminator movies. Although he has supported them in the past.

“I think it’s fairly widely known that I don’t have a lot of respect for the films that were made later. I was supportive at the time in each case for Arnold’s sake because he is a close friend. He has been a mate of mine since 33 years ago so I was always supportive and never too negative. But they didn’t work for me for various reasons.”

Cameron is supposedly working on Avatar until about 2025 (or later considering how many times they’ve been pushed back) so its tough to say whether the Terminator movies will be made parallel to the Avatar sequels or if we will have to wait a decade for them to come out. Who knows? Cameron’s name may just get stuck on as a producer in order to convince fans to give the franchise another chance. Even though he may or may not be involved at all.

Are interested in more Terminator films with James Cameron at least semi-involved?

  • PQG 1991

I love that franchise, hell I even like Genisys and Salvation! (Although admittedly those two are more guilty pleasures than anything else) So I’m in favor of more Terminator movies.

  • I can dig it.

  • Agreed. Not in the mood for blue cat tail sex.

  • I think I liked Terminator Genisys more than most. It’s a lot better if you look at it as total fanfiction. I’m down for more. I also think it’s time for Arnold to stop dping these flicks. He’s getting too old to be a terminator.

  • Mr. Perfect

Will Terminator 6 have Snake and Edward Furlong running away from a T1000 that wants their bag of drugs?
    Only time will tell.

  • Bulgingsnake

    I love drugs!

  • Mr. Perfect

Could you imagine all the delays caused by waiting for Edward Furlong to come out of his daily drug induced comas?

  • Beastly beast

I think James Cameron should do three more terminators FAR more than he should do three more of those dumb fuck smurfs of daffodil planet movies.

But they need to bring this story back to roots or kill everything except one and two in the canon.

  • Mr. Perfect

3 was fun too. But I hated it that T2 was all about how we make our own fate, and that the entire premise of 3 required taking a dump all over that.

  • Villain

I actually enjoy 3 quite a bit. I’d never watch Salvation of Genisys again though.

  • Mr. Perfect

They murdered him and soaked him in acid. As a big fan of Terminator that even thought Salvation was passable, I found Genysis to be absolutely painful.

  • Villain

I agree, John Connor especially needs to go. They ruined him in Genisys.

  • Mr. Perfect

I love Terminator. Sadly, I think it is time to let it go or tell a whole new story with new actors. And when I say whole new story, I mean that it is time to put the Sarah Connor/John Connor/time traveling assassin android to bed. That story has been told several times.

  • Villain

Its that or go completely fresh. Create a universe apart from the other movies.

  • Bulgingsnake

They need to get the original actors from 1 and 2, then start over with Terminator 3. And have James direct it… Then we’re talking
