Leonardo DiCaprio to Headline Tarantino’s Next Movie

Deadline has officially reported that Leo DiCaprio has accepted a role in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming movie. The duo have already worked together back in 2012 with D’Jango Unchained as DiCaprio played Calvin Candie. The film is likely to be Leo’s first since his Oscar win for The Revenant.

Its a little unclear what Tarantino’s film will actually be about. The early reports were that it was about the Manson family murders but Tarantino later revealed that it would be about 1969. Several names have already been rumored to be involved in the project. Jennifer Lawrence, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie all circling the project. Robbie was reportedly offered the role of Sharon Tate who was killed by the Manson family in 1969. It hasn’t been confirmed if she accepted it or not. DiCaprio and Robbie obviously worked together in Wolf of Wall Street.

Deadline claims that DiCaprio will play an aging actor, but the character name and most of the other plot elements seem to have been kept under wraps so far. DiCaprio’s character is reportedly one of two highly contested male roles. We have yet to hear who will take the other one.

Not especially, the last time I liked anything Leo did, it was Growing Pains on TV.

I’m very interested in seeing how a post-Weinstein Tarantino film will look and sound.

I found his last few efforts very drawn out, with really clunky, painting-by-numbers dialogue. This I chalk up to him being pampered and given whatever he wanted under the embrace of Miramax.

Remember when his films were well-paced and the lines were razor-sharp?
    Let’s have more of that…
