Who is the King of One Liners?

The One-Liner is one of the reasons every one loves film and TV. There is nothing like a great one liner whether its meant to be funny or bad ass. I thought we could talk about who the king of the one liners is. Here are just a few examples, but feel free to provide your own in the comments.

Norm Peterson

Norm Peterson is a fan favorite of the TV show Cheers played by George Wendt. Norm is one of just a few characters that appeared in every episode of the show and he is one of the most memorable members of the cast. Whenever Norm entered the Cheers (and everybody in the bar greeted him) bar he’d drop a one-liner on Coach or later Woody Boyd after they asked him how his life was going. It became one of the longest running gags on the show.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnie is probably the definitive king of one-liners to most people. To the point that other people get neglected. He’s been one of the most quotable actors of the last 30-40 years. He’s still cracking jokes now that he’s trying to crawl back after his political career. Whether its “I’ll be back” or “Get to the chopper” they all seem to be memorable.

Bruce Campbell/Ash Williams

Cult actor Bruce Campbell always gets the last word in. His definitive role is in Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead series and its probably Ash that gives him the most recognition for his killer one-liners. Campbell is one of the coolest and funniest actors on Earth and he’s still kicking ass all these years later. He’s not afraid to make fun of himself either.

Who is the best actor/character at acing some awesome one-liners?
