Padme Amidala is one of the more mixed characters in the Star Wars saga, whether you want to lay some of the blame on Natalie Portman or George Lucas, but the event of her death certainly was a significant moment in the overall Star Wars saga. I was listening to a podcast the other day and there was a group that was theorizing about what would’ve happened in Padme didn’t die while giving birth at the end of Revenge of the Sith. It would’ve made a really big impact on what happened to her children Luke and Leia in the story that followed.

If Padme didn’t die it opens up a lot of different possibilities. That could mean that Padme could have raised her children herself and they would’ve spent their childhood years together. Or would the threat of Anakin becoming Darth Vader be enough that she would pass her children on to someone else because she feared for their safety? Would Padme prevent Luke and Leia from exploring the Force? Or could it be possible that she would allow Obi Wan or Yoda to train them much earlier in their lives?

It has been said that one of the drafts of Revenge of the Sith had Padme leading the early stages of the Rebellion. It could have been possible that if she did live that she would’ve been involved in the fight against the Empire. Even if her husband was on the other side.

How would the Star Wars saga change if Padme survived Revenge of the Sith?
