Rockabilly Date Rape Song Of The Day

This is a new segment I’m introducing, it’s taking us back to the golden age of rock and roll. When men where MEN, and women did what they’re told.

The early days of rock and saw many future legends come together at a small studio in Memphis Tennessee called Sun Records. Names like Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and Jerry Lee Lewis all made records there. But another man cut records there too, and he didn’t gain the widespread popularity of the others. That man was Carl Perkins. He could write songs as well as all the others, and his guitar playing was top notch. Neither Cash or Elvis could do more than strum and pick a few chords on their guitar. Carl was a wild country boy. He did as he pleased. As noted in his 1956 classic Honey, Don’t.

So ah-hah, hey honey don’t, well honey don’t
Honey don’t, honey don’t, well honey don’t
Say you will when you won’t, ah-hah honey don’t

Honey don’t. Don’t what? Say you will when you won’t. Ok. Gotcha. If a women says she puts out, and Carl drives her up to Make-out Point, bitch better give up the pussy.

Carl Perkins- Honey, Don’t!

This classic was recorded as the B-side to Blue Suede Shoes. While Elvis made that song a hit with his cover version, Honey, Don’t went on to be covered by more than 20 different artists.

What do you think when your woman holds out on you?
