Oscar Isaac: Episode IX is the Definitive End of the Skywalker Saga

Episode IX has recently wrapped filming, so we can start to look forward to the marketing push behind the film to get moving soon. I would say a trailer is still about a month away but a title could be likely any time now. Oscar Isaac has been promoting a new film Triple Frontier that is set to debut on Netflix this week so, of course Episode IX had to be a topic of conversation.

Isaac, like Disney and Lucasfilm, is stating that this is the definite end of the Skywalker saga.

“It is the end of the entire Skywalker saga. Nine stories. This is the culmination of the entire thing. What J.J. has done, and the entire Lucasfilm team, is incredibly fulfilling. It’s also special for us because you get to learn a lot more things about these characters.”

I’ve always thought that once Disney and Lucasfilm decide to make some more money they will make an Episode X, but they seem to be playing it cool at this point. I think a break is very likely, we don’t need an Episode X in the next year or to. Letting the whole thing breathe for a while may not be a bad idea.

Is Episode IX going to be the end of the saga films? Or are we in for a Episode X eventually?
