Update: This report was accompanied by an announcement that Stephen Shiff will serve as the showrunner for the Cassian Andor series. You may know him from The Americans. I don’t.
Star Wars Celebration started last night and there should be an avalanche of Star Wars news coming over the course of the next 3-4 days. The first big news coming out of the convention is that Alan Tudyk will be back to play K2S0 in Cassian Andor’s Rogue One prequel series for Disney+.
This news isn’t exactly a surprise, but its never been revealed in the few months we’ve had since the announcement of the series. K2S0 and Cassian Andor have some implied history at the start of Rogue One so it looks like we will see their relationship at an earlier stage.
This should be exciting news since K2 is one of the more beloved characters in Rogue One. I wouldn’t be shocked if more known Star Wars characters will be in the show as well.
Are you more interested in a Cassian show with K2S0 returning?
Also, Disney+ revealed that their service is going to cost $6.99 a month. So it’ll be cheaper than Netflix, at least at the start. They also revealed that The Simpsons will be available on the service as well. So, it looks like some of the Fox content will be blended into the service.
