Disney seems to be living by one rule these days. You can’t have competition if you buy your competition. When Disney bought Fox they acquired a majority share of Hulu, but now they’ve made a deal with Comcast that has given them complete control.
Comcast sold their share of the streaming service for 5.8 billion. My guess is that Hulu will be the home for the R rated Fox properties that Disney acquired, and now they’ll be making all the money of this service as well as Disney+. Comcast owns NBCUniversal, so licensed content from that company will still stay on Hulu until 2024.
I can’t get Hulu in Canada, so this isn’t a big deal for me. Although, I wouldn’t be shocked if Disney tries to go international with it.
