ELOY, Ariz. (AP) —
Police in Arizona say a detective making a traffic stop on Interstate 10 was speaking to a driver from Oklahoma when he noticed the man’s dead wife in the passenger seat.
Eloy police said in a statement that 70-year-old Rodney Puckett said Monday that 74-year-old Linda Puckett died at a hotel in Texas and that he put her body in their vehicle before continuing their trip.
Puckett was arrested on suspicion of abandonment or concealment of a dead body. It’s not known whether he has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
The body was turned over to the Pinal County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
Police did not respond to requests for additional information, including the couple’s hometown in Oklahoma or their destination. –
So the story is that Rod and Linda went out on a road trip, and got a hotel in Texas, where Linda died. Rod, honoring his oath as an Oklahoman to -never- let his wife be buried south of the Red River, put her dead ass in the passenger seat and continued the family vacation to scenic Arizona, where he stopped at a Carl’s Jr. That’s where the drive thru employee noticed that he was naked, and trying to cover up his naked wife’s corpse.
If he had killer her, I would imagine that the story would have read “Man Kills Wife and puts her dead ass in the car.” That being said, his only crime appears to be not telling anyone else his wife had died (and getting Carl’s Jr. with a dead body). And we here at TGO all know that the only way to enjoy Carl’s Jr. is right next to a cold, 74-year-old vagina.
A later story confirms he was pulled over in his underwear after the fast food worker called police. No word on whether or not he finished his burger.
