The guy with the most redundant name of all time has died. Character actor Rip Torn has passed away at 88 in his home. He has appeared in many films as well as broadway plays over the course of 60 year career.

Torn often has a reputation for playing villains, but some of his most recognizable appearances come in the HBO show The Larry Sanders Show, the first two Men in Black movies, The Beastmaster and my personal favorite dodgeball legend Patches O’Houlihan in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. He uttered the quote “if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball.”
Torn also became known for outlandish behavior on the set of some projects. He hit Norman Mailer with a hammer during production of a film called Maidstone. This resulted in a fight that ended up in the finished movie. Dennis Hopper claimed Torn threatened him with a knife while he was working on Easy Rider and he broke into a bank back in 2010. This guy was a goddamn Wildman folks.
