Beverly Hills Cop 4 has been in development hell for more than a decade at this point. Axel Foley’s most recent movie came back in 1994, and Eddie Murphy’s lengthy period of less than acclaimed movies seemed to keep pushing the project back. There was also an attempt to make a TV pilot for a show about Axel Foley’s son that CBS never proceeded with.
Now Beverly Hills Cop 4 has found a partner in Netflix. Paramount made a one time deal with Netflix to make the sequel. Similar to what they chose to do with The Cloverfield Paradox last year.
Eddie Murphy will be back and he recently had some success with Netflix with his Rudy Ray Moore biopic Dolemite is My Name which has given him some surprising awards buzz.
The original Beverly Hills Cop was the highest grossing movie of 1984. Paramount also has a sequel to Murphy’s Coming to America in the works.
Will we finally see Beverly Hills Cop 4?
