JJ Abrams has revealed a few things today, and now we’ve finally got an official runtime for The Rise of Skywalker. Some outlets were claiming it was 2 hours and 35 minutes, but it turns out its shorter. The run time of the movie will be 2 hours and 21 minutes.
That makes it just 3 minutes longer than JJ’s first Star Wars effort The Force Awakens, but roughly 10 minutes shorter than The Last Jedi, which is the longest Star Wars movie ever.
So if you thought that The Rise of Skywalker needed to be the longest film of the saga in order to wrap up the story, you’d be incorrect, just like me. Oh well, sometimes leaner is better.
