Obi-Wan Series to Feature Young Luke Skywalker

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney+ is expected to beginning filming sometime this year, with Ewan McGregor currently the only cast member confirmed to be involved in the show. Although Slash Film is reporting that another classic character will be returning for the show, Luke Skywalker.

This doesn’t come as a big surprise to me. Obi-Wan Kenobi went to Tattooine to protect Luke, and you can tell in A New Hope that the pair known each other a little bit when they come into contact with each other in the movie. Although this will obviously force a re-casting of Luke.

My guess is that Luke is will be 10 years old or younger at the time of this show. Just to keep this version of the character reasonably distant from Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker, who is supposedly 19 in A New Hope. The report doesn’t say the age range they are looking for. Although some rumors have said the show will take place 8 years after Revenge of the Sith. Which would obviously make Luke 8 years old. There is no word on how large Luke’s role will be in the show. I wouldn’t expect it to be big myself.
