9:00AM: I woke up, had a coffee and feverishly cleaned my dishes and pizza leftovers from the night before.
10:00AM: Watched Beverly Hills Cop II. Not as good as the first one, but definitely still solid.
12:00PM: Watched a documentary about David Crosby. Dude’s definitely an asshole.
2:00PM: Watched Flubber starring Robin Williams. Loved this one as a kid. I love Robin Williams
3:30PM: Watched the 4th episode of Hunters on Amazon Prime.
5:00PM: Went to my mom and dad’s place just so they knew I’m alive. I’m like a 10 minute drive from them.
6:30PM: Watched The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes and had some pizza rolls.
7:00PM: Got a Facebook message from a old friend asking me to come up for a beer. Fuck it. Despite the possibility that I could catch a infectious disease that could kill me or others I decide to go.
8:15PM: Stop at the liquor store and pick up a 6 pack of Rolling Rock, the only beer you can get in a six pack in my liquor store.
8:40PM: Land in at buddy’s place, drink all 6 beer over the course of 3.5 hours.
Sunday March 15th, 2020
12:15AM: I drive home, despite probably being slightly over the limit.
12:30AM: I get home, and go to bed.
3:00AM: I wake up to loud noises. Turns out its a rodent of some kind digging through my recyclables. I get downstairs in just enough time to see it run across the floor and disappear. I’ll get that bastard one of these days. Clean out your recyclables folks.
8:30AM: I wake up again. This time for the day.
10:00AM: Go down to the local convenience store to get a couple of frozen meals to get me through the day and a coffee.
12:00PM: Watched Rampart staring Woody Harrelson. Its nothing special.
1:45PM: I lay down on the couch in front of the TV and nap while Family Guy plays. I fade in and out for 2 hours or so.
2:00PM: First reports of people in my province with COVID-19 break.
4:00PM: I wake up and cook some more pizza rolls and also heat up some frozen meatballs. Fuck vegetables. If I’m going to die I might as well limit my food to what I like.
6:00PM: Watched Insidious. Its not too bad. I remember this movie being a bit of a big deal when it came out because its actually reasonably scary. Its sort of generic but has decent scares.
7:45PM: I watch Spider Baby. An old horror movie from like 1967 that Texas Chainsaw Massacre probably owes a debt to.
9:15PM: The movie ends, I make myself a cup of Tea and read a chunk of Joe Hill’s book The Fireman. Its a book about a pandemic, but I swear to god I started reading it before Coronavirus broke out. Its 700 pages and I’m a slow reader.
11:56PM: I head upstairs and go to bed.
So, how did you spend your first Quarantine (not really) weekend TGO?
