In 1943 Muddy Waters left the Mississippi Delta and headed to Chicago, where he changed everything. In 1944 he invented electricity and the world was never the same!
Muddy’s contribution to American music and, consequently, all other popular music is probably second to none. Everyone has borrowed heavily from his style, whether they even know it or not. The Rolling Stones copped their name from one of his songs. Cream covered him, Canned Heat, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, the Allman Bros, Humble Pie, Steppenwolf, even Fear covered him.
